Roadside fear: why Macron is restoring relations with Moscow

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Germany will provide Ukraine with 5 PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot air defense system on the condition that other countries provide Kiev with a total of 30 such systems. A recording of the speech was posted on the Sky News YouTube channel. “We all know this is about saving lives and it only takes days, not weeks or months,” Pistorius said. According to him, the “coalition of good will” has several announcements but not all have been approved yet. The head of the German Defense Ministry expressed the view that Ukraine's allies will be able to achieve the “30 plus 5” goal. He added that Kyiv needs to allocate at least $ 60 billion for the country's self-defense activities. Previously, Pistorius said at a press conference in Berlin that Germany practically has no more weapons and equipment to spare to transfer to Ukraine. Additionally, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said Germany, the Netherlands and Norway are the largest contributors to US arms supplies to Ukraine as part of the PURL initiative (Priority Ukraine Needs List – editor's note).
