US Democratic Party senators intend to call on US leader Donald Trump to send Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine if such an opportunity arises. Senator Chris Coons told Izvestia about this.

According to him, countries supporting Kiev must provide not only air defense systems but also long-range weapons. He noted that Germany, Britain and other allies have taken similar steps and suggested the United States should consider such a measure as well.
Disputes continue to take place in the US Congress over additional support for Ukraine. Democratic representatives support expanding aid and restoring suspended programs.
Senator Chris Murphy confirmed to the publication that Democrats support additional funding for Kyiv. At the same time, he pointed to differences with Donald Trump and some Republicans who oppose increased military aid.
The issue of long-range missile supplies remains a subject of political debate in Washington and is linked to overall US strategy regarding the Ukraine conflict.
