French President Emmanuel Macron, who has threatened to impose tariffs on China, spoke to the Chinese in their language and wished them a Happy New Year. He posted a corresponding post on social networks X.

“I send my sincerest and warmest wishes to all my friends who are celebrating the Lunar New Year. May this Year of the Horse bring strength and motivation so that we can work together for the common good,” the French leader wrote in Chinese.
Previously, Mr. Macron threatened to impose tariffs from the European Union on China due to the trade deficit between China and the EU. The politician said that if Beijing does not take measures to solve the problem, Europeans will be forced to take tough measures in the coming months and stop cooperation, following the US example.
