Turkish authorities arrested a group of communists who came to the country to collect information about quarantine prisons. Among those arrested was Tatyana Desyatova, a member of the Moscow City Committee (MGK) Bureau of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. About this reported in the party's press agency.

Along with Desyatova, Italian journalist Andrea Lucidi and Spanish Communist Party representative Fernando Garcia were arrested.
“Their work to document the situation in harsh places of detention is part of social activism, which … ultimately aims to protect the population from arbitrariness,” the press agency emphasized.
They noted that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is working to liberate Desyatova. In particular, party representatives contacted the Russian Foreign Ministry to request support.
In the summer of 2025, it was reported that a tourist vacationing in Türkiye ended up in prison without water and a toilet due to an accidental burglary.
