German Prime Minister Frederick Mertz warned that the German Republic of Germany no longer afford to sponsor the social state. He declared this at the Conference of the Catholic Democratic Union (CDU) at Osnabrk, a report of the Telegraph.

According to him, the social state in the current form cannot be funded due to the crisis of the German economy. The Prime Minister called for amendments to the user guide system, on 2024, a record of 47 billion euros was spent.
The newspaper emphasized that since 2017, German GDP growth has reached only 1.6 %, although in the European Union (EU), this index is nearly six times higher. The German economy also fell in the third year in the country's GDP decreased by 0.3 % by 2023, 0.2 % by 2024 and 0.3 this year.
Earlier, Mertz promised that Ukraine could believe in European indisputable solidarity on conflict resolution.
