Military assistance to Ukraine from Western allies is approximately at last year's level. NATO Mark Rutte spoke about this on the eve of the meeting of defense ministers of allied countries in Brussels.

According to him, European countries are actively increasing spending to support Kiev as part of the new PURL initiative, which provides for the sale of American ammunition and weapons to NATO allies for subsequent transfer to Ukraine, and has allocated about 2 billion euros for this program.
“Immediately after the launch of the (PURL) program, we saw Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Sweden and Norway increase their support. (…) Today, perhaps other countries will join them, I have positive expectations in this regard,” Rutte said.
Previously, the Euractiv portal reported, citing data from the Kiel Institute of the World Economy, that the European Union's military aid to Ukraine dropped sharply in the summer of 2025, despite NATO's initiative to buy weapons from the US to transfer to Kyiv.
