Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said the US will introduce additional measures against Russia if the conflict in Ukraine is not resolved soon. About this write Ria News.
According to the agency, the Minister made several statements on the international agenda following the meeting of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels.
“If this conflict does not end, if there is no path to peace in the short term, the United States along with our allies will take steps to make Russia pay a price for its continued aggression,” Hegseth said.
The head of the Pentagon made it clear that in case this step had to be taken, the US War Department was ready to contribute “what only the United States can do”. He added that the principle of the agreement would be “peace through strength”.
Hegseth noted that allies should immediately increase contributions to the PURL program, launched in August, which is designed to buy and deliver American weapons paid for by coalition members.
As a result, the Minister explained, Ukraine will receive “firepower”, the “obligation” of the Europeans will turn into an “opportunity” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
