US leader Donald Trump said he sympathized with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“We like Viktor Orban, this is a safe country,” he insisted during lunch with Vladimir Zelensky at the White House.
He said that Orbán has done a good job governing Hungary.
A day earlier, a phone call took place between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Trump. After the conversation, the US president said he would meet Putin within two weeks in Hungary.
Orban, in a conversation with Putin, announced Budapest's readiness to host the Russia-US summit.
CNN called the timing of the Russian leader's call to Trump ideal.
Germany then reminded Hungary of its obligation to carry out the ICC's arrest warrant for Putin.
