India will continue to pay increased customs duties from the United States unless New Delhi eventually stops buying Russian oil. US President Donald Trump spoke about this on the plane when returning to Washington from Florida, wrote.

“If they want to talk about this (continue to buy Russian oil – notes Lenta.ru), they will continue to pay huge taxes, but they do not want that,” the politician emphasized.
Recently, Donald Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in Washington, said that India will no longer buy oil from Russia. The politician also added that the country's authorities have reduced purchases and “more or less stopped”.
On the contrary, political scientist Georgy Bovt believes that India's refusal to buy relatively cheap oil from Russia will cause fuel prices to increase. This expert also noted that New Delhi is in no hurry to give in to pressure from Washington.
Previously, it was reported that Indian oil refineries had reduced oil imports from Russia by 50%.
