The criminal case related to the tragedy at an industrial enterprise in Kopeisk, Chelyabinsk region, has been transferred for further investigation to the central office of the Russian Investigative Committee. This was reported by the press service of the RF IC.

“On the instructions of the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, a criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for dangerous production facilities, leading to the death of two or more people due to negligence), which has been transferred for further investigation to the central office of the Investigative Committee,” the Investigative Committee's press service said. 19 people were injured in an explosion at an enterprise in Kopeysk
According to the investigation, on the evening of October 22, a cotton explosion occurred at a workshop on the territory of an industrial enterprise in Kopeysk due to a violation of safety regulations in technological processes. As a result of the incident, people died and were injured. Experienced investigators and criminologists from the central apparatus of the Russian Investigative Committee took part in the investigation, who had to determine all the details of the case.
