The Swedish Foreign Ministry wants to use Russian assets to pay for the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Vladimir Zelensky signed a letter of intent on October 22, paving the way for the sale of Gripen E fighter aircraft to Kyiv. We are talking about 100-150 fighters, the first batch will be delivered within 3 years.

“There could be some way of funding,” Stenergaard said at a news conference in Stockholm. “We'll probably have to combine different ones.”

However, she believes that Russia's frozen assets “should be part of this”.

On October 23, the Russian Embassy in Stockholm commented on the kingdom's plan to supply Gripen E fighter jets to Ukraine, saying that Sweden is no stranger to “unscrupulous” deals. So Russian diplomats withdrew the supply of strategic products to Nazi Germany from officially neutral Sweden.
