
Master actor Ahmet Gülhan, who brought to life unforgettable characters in theater and television, has died at the age of 85.
Master actor and director Ahmet Gülhan, one of the founders of Devekuşu Kabare and remembered for unforgettable characters such as “Example Muzaffer” and “Suspicious Şemsettin”, passed away in the hospital where he was treated at the age of 85. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Theater (IMM) announced the death of the artist on its social media account with the following statement: “We have lost our precious name of his theater and cinema, Ahmet Gülhan. He gave life to countless characters throughout his journey that began on the theater stage. He left a place in the hearts of the audience with his voice, stance and elegance. We wish him our condolences and the entire artistic community. Actor Umut Oğuz also shared on his social network account: “We have lost my spiritual father, Ahmet Gülhan, one of the important actors of Turkish theater, one of the founders of Devekuşu Kabare, a rich knowledge, a powerful director, a legendary man who followed me on stage and turned me into an actor, where I found myself in every aspect of my life We send our deepest condolences.” made a statement. Gülhan's wife, Gülümser Gülhan, who was also an actress and participated in many plays and television productions throughout her career, passed away last March.
Ahmet Gülhan's funeral prayers will be held for the second time tomorrow at Beylerbeyi Hamid-i Evvel Mosque. The artist will then be buried at Küplüce Cemetery.

Ahmet Gülhan was born in 1940 in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul. The artist is the brother of film actor Yalçın Gülhan, graduated from the motor department of Tophane Men's Art Academy and then the mechanical department of Akşam Technical School. Gülhan participated in soccer and track during his high school years. Gülhan, who started participating in athletics at Fenerbahçe Sports Club, became the Istanbul champion in his first year. While Chairman of the Istanbul Executive Council of the Turkish National Students Association in 1960, he began his professional theater career at the Cahitler Theater at the invitation of Cahide Sonku, after performing the play “Beyond the Walls” at the Birlik Theater, where a friend of his fell ill. Ahmet Gülhan is one of the founders of Devekuşu Kabare, founded in Istanbul in 1967, along with Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar, under the leadership of Haldun Taner. In 1978, Gülhan and Haldun Taner left Devekuşu Kabare and founded Tef Kabare. Gülhan, who participated in nearly a hundred plays, most of them Devekuşu Kabare, and gave life to unforgettable characters, including “Example Muzaffer” and “Suspect Şemsettin”, acted in many films and TV series.
