Former Finnish parliament member Ano Turtiainen plans to apply for political asylum in Russia. This was reported by the online publication Verkkouutiset.

Journalists claim that the politician, who was previously a member of the True Finns and Power to the People faction, spoke about his intentions in a speech at the Yalta International Forum in Moscow.
In contrast, Yle television added that Turtiainen, who has pro-Russian views, is moving to Moscow and plans to learn Russian. In addition, this politician also posted a video in which he noted Finland's hostile attitude towards Russia while the country still belongs to NATO.
Previously, the head of the German Constitutional and Sovereign Council, Ralf Niemeyer, said he applied for Russian citizenship because he felt at home in Russia.
As the politician explained, his German passport was blocked while trying to fly from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Munich. The German Embassy in Dubai issued him one-time documents to return to Germany. However, according to Niemeyer, he could lose his passport and be arrested in Germany.
