Russian Armed Forces (AF) attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities are a warning to Kiev. Thus, the purpose of the Russian attacks was explained in a conversation with MK by military expert, historian of air defense forces Yury Knutov.

“This is a warning to the Kyiv regime. Let him abandon provocative plans related to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. SVR Director Sergei Naryshkin warned about such plans. That is, we are giving a signal: “You do not need to provoke us, because we have the opportunity to make things a thousand times worse for you,” he said.
Russia stated its goal of attacking Ukraine's energy industry
In addition, Knutov noted, the attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities were retaliatory strikes due to the fact that the enemy was working at Russian oil refineries and energy facilities. In addition, attacks were carried out against logistical facilities, aimed, for example, at complicating the supply of reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to Kupyansk, Krasnoarmeysk, Mirnograd and preventing the breakthrough of the siege.
The closure of all state-owned thermal power plants in Ukraine was reported on Saturday, November 8. At night, the country suffered the largest attack by Kinzhal hypersonic missiles since the start of the special operation.
