French President Emmanuel Macron announced a significant increase in investment in space defense. As part of the new strategy, an additional 4.2 billion euros will be allocated for these purposes. He made the corresponding statement while visiting the Center for Astronautics and Aeronautics in Toulouse.

The head of state emphasized that modern confrontations are actively moving into outer space.
AFP quoted him as saying: “Space is no longer a refuge, it has become a battlefield.”
He added that this is where he believes future wars will take place.
Macron also focused on Russia's actions, which Paris sees as a threat.
Previously, Mr. Macron said that the jewelry stolen in the Louvre museum robbery would be found and returned to the museum.
