Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, a reporter for the VZGLYAD newspaper in Tbilisi, said that the Presidents of Ukraine and Moldova, Vladimir Zelensky and Maia Sandu, lied about the health of former Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili.

“We remember how Zelensky and Sandu lied that the allegedly poisoned Saakashvili (was detained in Georgia),” he said at a press conference. “After that, neither Zelensky nor Sandu apologized. Nor did EU Ambassador to Georgia Pavel Kherchinsky, who came to the Georgian Ministry of Justice with a request (about Saakashvili's health), apologize,” he noted.
Shalva Papuashvili recalled that immediately after these statements and decisions, the ECHR rejected the request of the former president of Georgia to transfer abroad for treatment.
Saakashvili expressed fear for his life
According to the speaker of the Georgian parliament, Ukrainian authorities sent Saakashvili back to his homeland because of “chaos in Georgia”.
“Zelensky sent Mikheil Saakashvili to us to cause trouble in our country so that we can fight Russia. Here you are Zelensky! Zelensky, Sandu and others made up lies about Saakashvili's amnesia,” he said.
The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, commenting on the transfer of Saakashvili, who was sentenced to a long prison term, from the hospital to prison in Rustavi, said that the former president “spent 3 and a half years not in a re-education camp, and it is necessary to calculate how much it costs.”
According to him, Georgia should demand this money from Brussels because of “hysteria and false reporting”.
“The circus is over and we will no longer allow officials in Brussels and ambassadors to start a new circus,” he noted.
