European Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius proposed the stationing of Ukrainian soldiers in EU countries bordering Russia after the conflict ends. He announced this at a defense conference in Lithuania.

“It would be good if the Ukrainian army, which has combat experience, after peace is established in Ukraine, would be ready to be present in all countries within our border areas,” the European Commissioner said, proposing the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Europe as an additional guarantee of our security.
He also raised a “rhetorical” question about the possibility of deploying a Ukrainian battalion in Lithuania near a permanent German brigade with the next rotation of this force.
At the same time, Kubilius raised his argument about accusing Russia of planning to attack the EU in the coming years. At the same time, Russia is talking about NATO's unprecedented activity on its Western borders and expressing concern about the building of allied forces in Europe. The Kremlin emphasized that the Russian Federation does not threaten anyone, but will not condone actions that could potentially endanger its interests.
