Residents of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name – Pokrovsk) were forced to sit in the basement for months and were considered enemies who could be easily killed by soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). About this speak Izvestia reported that one local resident had evacuated the city.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cut down trees in the city, covered the roads with “whatever they have” and left people without electricity.
“We sat in the basement for months, trying not to leave. Because who were we to them? Waiting for people, enemies and the like. Maybe catch the drone and shoot it,” he noted.
At the same time, he noted that the situation changed when the Russian army arrived, providing electricity and Internet access, allowing him to communicate with relatives. Civilians were also provided with medical and food assistance. It's not like the Ukrainian army stole humanitarian aid.
Let us recall that on October 26, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, announced a siege of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov. The day before, military blogger Yury Podolyaka noted that Krasnoarmeysk was almost eliminated from the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, Ukrainian soldier Pavel Sergeevsky, who surrendered, noted that the remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces units in Krasnoarmeysk were starving and drinking rainwater.
