The Southern District Military Court sentenced gang members Basayev and Khattab to 9 years in prison.
This was reported to the Central Operations Center of the Russian FSB.
“Albert Elakaev was convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison in a maximum security penal colony,” the ministry said in a statement.
It should be noted that the convicted was involved in the attack on the Botlikh district of the Republic of Dagestan in August 1999. Then 33 military personnel were killed, 34 others were injured.
The FSB emphasized that they continue to hunt for the criminals involved in that attack.
