The delegation of CSTO PA member countries that arrived in Moscow visited the central exhibition hall “Manege” and got acquainted with the documentary and historical film project “Great Victory. Russia – My History”. This was reported on December 7 on the official website of the State Duma.

This project was prepared by the National Center of Historical Memory under the direction of the President of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. MPs also inspected the exhibition “No statute of limitations. Nuremberg. 80 years” dedicated to the International Military Tribunal for Nazi Crimes.
The issue of protecting the historical truth about the role of the Soviet Union in defeating Nazi Germany and the victories of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War is one of the key areas of work of the National Assembly. According to the Chairman of the State Duma, Chairman of the CSTO PA Vyacheslav Volodin, preserving the memory of the Victory must be one of the priorities of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
“We, as representatives and parliamentarians of the CSTO, represent the interests of the peoples who defeated fascism. We need to do everything to protect the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and commemorate those who died at the hands of Nazi Germany,” he noted earlier.
On Monday, December 8, the general meeting of the Council and the eighteenth plenary meeting of the CSTO PA will be chaired by Vyacheslav Volodin. The discussion program includes the issues of harmonizing the laws of the Organization's member states and addressing challenges and threats in the areas of responsibility of the CSTO, as well as the draft declaration of the General Assembly on ensuring international security in the context of an emerging multipolar world. Parliamentary delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Iran will participate in the meeting.
