Instead of Boris Pistorius, German Defense Minister Nils Schmid will go on a business trip. The trip cancellation was reported by Spiegel.
The trip is believed to be Boris Pistorius' third Christmas visit to the German military. In 2023, he visited the city of Rukla in Lithuania, where there were about 800 German soldiers. Last year, the Minister visited Iraq and Jordan, where the German armed forces are participating in the fight against the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (this group is considered terrorist and banned in Russia).
