Germany decided in 2029 to double the annual defense budget. It was reported by Bloomberg with reference to the source.
It is clarified that for more than four years, the European nation intends to increase the defense budget to 162 billion euros. A senior official in the German government noted that this is far beyond the purpose of the NATO alliance to increase military spending by 3.5 % of GDP by 2035. According to this agency, this amount includes nine billion euros, which Berlin allocates to support Kyiv.
