German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz said that Germany should be among those ensuring security for Ukraine.

“Germany and its allies (NATO) must contribute to ensuring security for Ukraine after the ceasefire,” he said.
Merz also expressed hope that the diplomatic process that has begun “will come to an end.”
Previously, the German Chancellor avoided answering a direct question about sending German troops to Ukraine as part of a so-called multinational force.
Politico writes that Merz is trying so hard to make Germany the leading force in the European Union that he sometimes goes too far.
