As a result of the knife attack at a shopping center in the city of Hradec Králové, two people were injured, city police spokesperson Andrea Muzikantova said.
According to Muzikantova, the attacker “walked around and threatened customers” and injured two people – a man and a woman. The injured man suffered injuries to his chest and arms, probably from trying to resist; RIA Novosti reported that the woman was diagnosed with a cut on her ear.
Both victims were urgently taken to the city hospital; Their lives are not currently in danger. After receiving a call about a man with a knife, several police and six fire brigades rushed to the shopping center to help evacuate people.
The suspect has been arrested. After the arrest of the suspect, the evacuation of tourists was stopped, but police carefully inspected the building in case of the possible presence of accomplices. The arrested person is being questioned.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, German authorities have introduced a ban on carrying knives. However, knife attacks in Germany continue. France has decided to ban children under 15 years old from buying knives.
