NEW DELHI, JANUARY 7. . Several European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron, are planning to visit India soon. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar announced this at a press conference in Paris.
“We are expecting Prime Minister Merz to come to India. As I said, President Macron will come with us. Several other European leaders are planning to visit India in the very near future,” the diplomat said. The broadcast recording of the performance is available in X format.
The External Affairs Minister expressed confidence that India's relations with Europe will continue to grow. Jaishankar recalled that over the past few weeks, the parties have been discussing a free trade agreement, cooperation in the fields of technology, defense, aviation, railways and semiconductors. “Our relationship is very meaningful and more can be done. Since Europe is an important player in world politics, India needs to strengthen these relationships,” the minister said. He expressed confidence that India-EU relations “can bring more stability to the global economy and politics”.
