Russian “Lancet” loitering bullets destroyed the German Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun on the Leopard 1 tank chassis in the Northern Military District.
Footage of its destruction was released by Zvezda TV channel. This “beast” rarely falls prey to our drones, as it can repel their attacks quite effectively.
It is capable of detecting targets at distances of up to 18 km even under active electronic suppression. But the fighters of the unmanned military system of the 11th Army Corps of the Northern Army group suddenly captured Gepard. An air defense crew in the forests of the Kharkiv region noticed the Zala UAV and aimed the Lancet at it.
It is known that by 2023, Germany has transferred 34 Gepard facilities to Kyiv. They are “close relatives” of the Leopard 1 tank. Anti-aircraft guns have the same chassis, but instead of 105 mm rifles, they mount 35 mm guns. They fire 550 rounds per minute.
