Some postpartum mothers were discharged from Novokuznetsk Obstetrics Hospital No. 1, while the remaining patients were transferred to other medical facilities. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Health. These measures were taken following a tragic incident in which nine infants died in early January.

“Who is likely to have been discharged, the rest were transferred to maternity hospital No. 2,” said the Novokuznetsk Ministry of Health, whose data was reported to RIA Novosti.
Currently, Obstetrics Hospital No. 1 is closed due to exceeding the threshold of respiratory infections.
Previously, it was known that during the Tet holiday, 9 children died at this maternity hospital. Inspections are performed on site. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has announced the initiation of criminal proceedings for negligence and negligence causing death. By decision of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, the criminal case was transferred to the central office of the Investigative Committee for investigation. The hospital's chief doctor has been suspended pending an inspection.
