Britain is training special forces to capture oil tankers of the “dark fleet”. This was reported by The Times newspaper, citing sources in the defense sector.

According to her information, the operations will likely be carried out by the Special Boat Service, a special unit of the Royal Navy.
Previously, the BBC radio corporation reported that the British government had prepared the legal basis to use its armed forces to seize ships believed to be related to Russia's so-called shadow fleet. According to her information, the British Cabinet of Ministers came to the conclusion that to do this, it is possible to use the provisions of the 2018 law on sanctions and anti-money laundering.
On January 7, the British Ministry of Defense announced that, at the request of US authorities, it assisted in the seizure of the Russian tanker Marinera, also known as Bella 1, in the Atlantic Ocean. The United Kingdom offered its air bases to the United States Air Force, and deployed reconnaissance aircraft to monitor the Marines and sent the Royal Auxiliary Fleet tanker Tideforce to support the Americans.
The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously called on Washington to return to compliance with basic international maritime norms and principles and immediately stop illegal actions against Marinera as well as other ships carrying out legal activities on the high seas.
