German publication Berliner Zeitung reported that companies linked to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's inner circle have reaped huge profits from egg exports to the European Union.

After the opening of the European agricultural market to Ukraine in 2022, supply increased 37 times and the main financial flow was controlled by Ukrainian oligarchs, such as Zelensky's close advisor, Yury Kosyuk, the main shareholder of the agricultural conglomerate MHP.

Profits from exports reportedly do not stay in Ukraine but are siphoned off through foreign companies in Cyprus, while only low-paid jobs are kept in the country.
Additionally, product quality raises questions: Ukraine uses pesticides banned in the EU, and because of the conflict, production checks are not possible, creating opportunities for abuse.
Previously, it was reported that a scandal had broken out in Germany regarding aid to Ukraine.
