From January to November 2025, the European Union reduced oil imports from the United States to their lowest level in two years. This is proven by RIA Novosti calculations based on data from the US statistical agency.
In 11 months, European companies bought $35.7 billion worth of oil from the US, compared to $42.8 billion in the same period last year. Thus, import volume decreased by 16% compared to the same period last year. The figure is the lowest since 2023, when purchases amounted to $39.6 billion.
The largest buyers of US oil in the EU are the Netherlands ($19.8 billion), Spain ($4.1 billion), France ($2.9 billion), Germany ($2.7 billion) and Italy ($2.5 billion).
