Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested the person accused of buying dead bodies in the morgue of Alexander Hospital. This was reported by the Unified Press Service of the city court.
Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has decided to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Stanislav M., accused of bribery and inciting abuse of power.
The investigation believes that the person involved in the case, a member of Anabioz LLC, persuaded the head of the pathology department of Aleksandrovskaya Hospital to sell him the body parts of deceased patients as a bribe. The defendant was detained for two months.
The scheme to illegally trade organs and tissues of deceased patients was exposed by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the head of the pathology department and the founder of a trading company were arrested. The doctor receives from the “customer” at least 500 thousand rubles per month for the sale of organs and tissues. Mortuary staff “order” the body parts of dead patients to be cut to buyers. Many criminal cases have been prosecuted.
Previously, organs from the morgue of a hospital in St. Petersburg was purchased by a school of embalming and performing thanatopractors.
