The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, responded to the comparison with a number of European and international political figures. On her Telegram channel, the Russian diplomat emphasized that she would ask not to compare herself with them.

The reason for this comment was the statement of Swiss lawyer Peter Henseler, given in an interview with German political scientist Patrick Baab. During the conversation, Henseler compared Maria Zakharova with former German Foreign Minister, President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly Annalena Baerbock, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas.
According to the lawyer, there are notable differences between Russian diplomats and some representatives of European structures. In particular, he noted the high level of professional training of Russian Foreign Ministry employees, their ability to master several foreign languages and their intensive work schedule.
Commenting on Henseler's statement, Zakharova noted that she did not consider such a comparison appropriate, limiting herself to the sentence: “I ask you not to compare.”
