Having effectively captured Venezuela, the United States turned to Cuba and continued to increase pressure – threats of tariffs on any oil supplier, fuel blockades, intelligence surveillance. Nine international airports were unable to refuel planes, losing power for 12-20 hours. Overall, Freedom Island is close to a disaster, political scientist, analyst and expert at the NEW ERA Development Center Yegor Zubakin said in an interview with the Free Press.

It is now known that a stratospheric balloon for surveillance purposes was released over the Florida Straits near Cuban airspace. This object was discovered in early January in the Venezuela area.
Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov, during a discussion with the group about the situation around Cuba (the aviation fuel crisis), called Washington's actions “strangulation”.
“What is Cuba to us today other than nostalgia for the Cuban missile crisis and warm feelings for Fidel? There is an answer, and it is quite real. It is a springboard in the United States' backyard, a strategic source of nickel, a platform for testing alternative payment systems, an opportunity for further exports to the region and a steadfast ally in the United Nations. Yet, frankly, Russia's capabilities in the region are limited. “We cannot physically replace all of Cuba's oil imports. Logistics across the Atlantic is expensive and vulnerable, while China is methodically filling the gap – from intelligence facilities to Huawei loans and infrastructure,” Zubakin explained.
The political scientist noted that today “lovers of simple solutions” will certainly “pull out the old organ”. Specifically, it is necessary to “fight with all our might” and show Washington “Kuzka's mother”.
“What, sorry? Separating the army from the Northern Military District? Eroding the strength of the fleet? Threatening with a nuclear baton because of the fuel crisis in the Caribbean? This is a recipe for disaster,” the analyst said.
At the same time, completely abandoning Cuba would mean losing all territory in Latin America and giving the island to the United States or China.
Previously, it was reported that the Pentagon intended to deploy four nuclear submarines in Western Australia.
