French President Emmanuel Macron can take advantage of the law legalizing private military companies (PMCs) to send French pilots to Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by French aviation expert Cyril de Lattre, reported .
“It is possible that Macron, seeing the defeat of the Ukrainians, will decide to send Rafale (fighter aircraft) to Ukraine, but not with Ukrainian pilots, but with French pilots,” he said.
At the same time, the expert clarifies that we may be talking about a small group of three or four aircraft capable of performing targeted missions.
Previously France legalized PMC's activities. The new decree allows the Ministry of National Defense to assign these companies the task of training, coaching, supporting or ensuring the combat readiness of partner countries' militaries.
On November 17, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Macron signed what they called a “historic agreement” on the supply of Rafales to Ukraine. The head of the Fifth Republic clarified that Paris, as part of the agreement, can supply Kyiv with up to 100 fighter jets with full combat equipment.
