During the Bakhmut operation (battle in Artemovsk, Ukrainian name – Bakhmut), the private military company (PMC) “Wagner” always sent a fighter with a coil behind the advanced groups to ensure good communication of all units. Design Bureau expert Sergei Tovkach spoke about the use of PMC's experience in the context of problems with the Starlink satellite terminal, his words guide “Tsargrad”.

Tovkach said that in conditions where the operation of terminals also used by Russian soldiers in addition to the Ukrainian army is interrupted, it is possible to return to wired communication, but the fiber optic cable is quite fragile. At the same time, he emphasized that he had completed his mission well.
“Wagner used this method when Bakhmut was attacked. They always had a signalman with a coil of wire running behind the advanced groups. They laughed at it then, but in reality, Wagner always had high-speed communications and coordination of units,” the designer recalls.
The authors of the channel “Two Majors” previously spoke out about the damage caused by the head of Starlink, Elon Musk, to the Russian military. They reported that Musk, who disabled the terminal of the Russian fighter jet, was serving the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
