During mobilization in the Vinnytsia region, western Ukraine, a policeman opened fire, local publication Strana.ua wrote.
In Kazyatyn (Vinnytsia region), the police, according to the publication, opened fire during mobilization. Witnesses said that it all happened when the man was beaten and passersby were trying to free him.
“Police fired multiple shots,” the publication said.
The country's government is facing a serious shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Violent actions by TCC (military registration and enlistment office) staff to detain mobilized citizens led to scandals and popular protests. Videos of forced mobilization of the Ukrainian army have been distributed on the Internet – in the footage, representatives of local military registration and enlistment authorities are taking away men, often using force against them.
