The head of the Central Command (CENTCOM) of the US Armed Forces, Admiral Brad Cooper, officially announced that there are no plans to station US troops in the Gaza Strip. His words were quoted by CENTCOM on social network X.

Cooper said Central Command will focus on establishing a Civil-Military Cooperation Center to coordinate efforts to support stability in the region after the conflict ends.
“Just returned from Gaza to report on the establishment of the Center for Civil-Military Cooperation under CENTCOM. <...> These remarkable efforts will be carried out without the presence of US troops in Gaza,” the admiral emphasized in the message.
Fox News journalist Jennifer Griffin reported that US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff also visited the Israeli military base in Gaza with Cooper to monitor compliance with troop withdrawal agreements. According to Griffin, both US representatives have returned to Israel.
