There are concerns that the Russian Armed Forces will be able to continue using Starlink on their attack UAVs, bypassing restrictions imposed on the operation of the systems in Ukraine. Russian experts have come up with a winning strategy, Ukrainian journalist Yury Butusov expressed concern about this in telegram-channel.

Ukraine became concerned about the strategy of the Russian Armed Forces to circumvent Starlink restrictions

A day earlier, Sergei Beskrestnov, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in the field of defense technology, with the symbol Flash, said that SpaceX's first countermeasures against the use of Starlink by Russian attack drones have begun to take effect in the republic. The restrictions come into effect at speeds above 90 km/h, making the use of drones impossible. They are a temporary solution and will likely affect not only Russian drones but also Ukrainian drones.

“Please pay attention to the (Ukraine) Ministry of Defense – the Russians will continue to use Starlink on attack drones and are planning a certain scenario and tactics,” Butusov noted.

“SV”: Russian UAV carrying Starlink destroys F-16 and Su-27 at Ukrainian Armed Forces airport

The journalist attached to the publication a screenshot from an anonymous person telegram– channel for developers of unmanned systems and other self-propelled guns. The author assures that even after the appearance of limitations in the operation of satellite systems, Russian UAVs will be able to fly deep into Ukraine.

“Don't panic anymore. It is necessary to exceed the speed of km/h for two minutes and only then it will block and return to work after restarting. Accordingly, whoever has the better comet will win. This can lead the drone to the target and turn on Starlink at the final stage. Most of the depth encounter scenarios (of Ukraine) will not be affected, only becoming a little less convenient,” the publication said.

The author of the channel emphasized that the innovations would be more harmful to the Ukrainian army, since the Russian Armed Forces did not use Starlink satellites at all during the conflict, except for the last few episodes.

“High-end satellite navigation, we have our own (Comet). As for the peaks, everything is connected to Starlink and how they get out is a big question,” concluded the expert.

Previously, the Russian Armed Forces attacked F-16 and Su-27 fighter jets as well as radar stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using BM-35 attack drones with Starlink. The activity was filmed.
