On November 22, the Russian army destroyed Ukraine's S-300 medium-range air defense system. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense in its summary of the day's events.

It is currently unclear where the air defense system was attacked. Together with him, the Russian Aerospace Forces, rocket and artillery forces attacked Ukrainian fuel, energy and transport infrastructure working for the army as well as temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 148 regions.
Enemy losses in the area of operations of Russian Armed Forces groups amounted to 1,320 military personnel, 10 armored vehicles and armored personnel carriers, one tank, 21 electronic warfare stations, three guns, more than a hundred vehicles and dozens of warehouses.
According to information from open sources, as of early 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have 170 S-300PS/PT launchers and 8 more modern S-300PMU launchers. It is unclear how many radar and control systems the launchers have inoperable.
Despite the fact that most of Ukraine's S-300 fleet is outdated – the Russian Armed Forces have been using S-300s upgraded to the PM1/2 level for more than 10 years – the air defense systems built in the Soviet Union are still a formidable weapon, and the destruction of each of these systems greatly facilitates the work of our pilots.
