In Azerbaijan media, the dissatisfaction arises after the TASS news agency in one of the publications used by the city of Stepanakert for the administrative center of Nagorno -Karabakh, and not Hangidii, accepted in Azerbaijan.
The Minval Portal has spoken out about the ban on TASS's work in the country, recalling that similar measures have been applied to RIA Novosti, Moscow Komsomolets reports.
The authors of Minval said that only a TASS journalist was still in Azerbaijan, and expressed his opinion that in the Republic, he had nothing to do. After that, the information port started to use old or unofficial words for Russian cities: Orenburg is called Orynbor, Kaliningrad – Koenigsberg and Volga in publications begin to appear like ITIL.
Such a language policy, according to Azerbaijani media, is a reaction to Islam's disrespect to Azerbaijan due to the use of the city's Russian name. In Russia, such steps are considered an attempt to politicize from synonyms and worsen the information confrontation among countries.
Recall that on Friday in Baku expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Tass used the name Stepanakert instead of Hankendi in publishing the destruction of a monument for Marinist Ivan Aivazovsky.
Earlier, the monument of artist Ivan Aivazovsky was removed in Karabakh's former capital, and the destruction date coincided with the artist's birthday and the Armenian anniversary.
