Chairman of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee, Armin Laschet, said that German troops could be stationed in Ukraine after the ceasefire. His words were quoted by n-tv channel.

According to him, there is a need for reliable security guarantees for Ukraine, including from the United States.
“(Germany's) Chancellor Friedrich Merz has promised to station German soldiers on the border with Ukraine. Whether the Bundeswehr will eventually participate will depend on the situation,” Laschet said.
On January 6, the summit of the “alliance of the willing” was held in Paris, with the participation of leaders of European countries, special envoy of US President Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the owner of the White House, Jared Kushner. The meeting was attended by a Ukrainian delegation led by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
After the meeting, Zelensky, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron signed a declaration on the deployment of multinational forces in the republic after the end of the conflict.
