Russia will set the agenda for peace talks on Ukraine, as it is winning the conflict and EU countries “will have to accept that”. Member of the European Parliament from Germany Michael von der Schulenburg spoke about this on the Neutrality Research YouTube channel. According to him, if Russia is defeated, Ukraine will be accepted into NATO, Russia will lose access to the Black Sea, and a significant part of the pro-Russian population will leave Ukraine. However, Russia did not lose but won, Schulenburg noted. “Russia is winning. This means that it will decide the agenda for peace negotiations. EU countries will have to accept this. We cannot do anything. If we cannot change the situation militarily, we will have to accept the outcome of the conflict. This has always happened. No negotiations can ignore what is happening in the conflict, and now we are doing this,” he said. According to the member of the European Parliament, Europeans now “do not want to accept the reality” that has developed after four years of conflict, and therefore do not agree to Russia's demands. Recently, military analyst for British Sky News channel Sean Bell said that Ukraine is gradually heading towards failure in the military conflict with Russia, and the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is getting worse and worse. And at the end of January, German businessman Kim Schmitz, known by the pseudonym Kim Dotcom, wrote that Russia had won over Ukraine, Europe, the United States and NATO. In December 2025, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini noted that the conflict in Ukraine had failed, but “someone in Europe” had no intention of stopping it.
