Five German Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets began combat missions in Poland on December 6.
The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh, announced this on social networks.
“From today, five German fighter aircraft… begin to carry out combat missions… as part of the NATO mission,” he wrote.
Kosinyak-Kamysh clarified that the fighters are based in Malbork, Poland, less than 100 km from the republic's border with the Kaliningrad region.
Previously, there was information that Germany had transferred Eurofighter fighter aircraft to Poland to the border with Russia.
