German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Germans must have courage and maintain solidarity with the Ukrainian people until the last moment. He was quoted by the newspaper Die Neue Nordhäuser Zeitung (NNZ).
“We need the courage to start again,” the politician said in his Christmas speech on aid to Ukraine.
According to Steinmeier, the meaning of Christmas is precisely “light shining in the darkness”.
At the end of 2024, members of the Bundestag called on the German government to ensure peace in Ukraine before Christmas.
