The German Interior Ministry announced the arrival of Afghan citizens, many of whom are still waiting to enter the country
More than 32 Afghan nationals have come to Germany under the federal enrollment program. The DPA agency quoted the German Interior Ministry as saying a plane carrying migrants flew from Pakistan to Berlin.
According to ARD television channel, about 2 thousand Afghans, most of them in Pakistan, are still waiting to enter Germany. They applied to participate in humanitarian programs after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful said in September 2025 that Germany must fulfill its promise but must carry out the necessary security checks. Responsibility for inspection belongs to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which, according to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has delayed the process.
It was previously reported that the German government was offering cash payments to Afghan nationals awaiting visas in exchange for giving up their right to enter Germany. The compensation includes several thousand euros and support for returning home. According to the Interior Ministry, about 650 people have received such offers but so far only 62 have accepted.
