German Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Giese said Germany will comply with the European Commission's request to limit the issuance of multiple-entry Schengen visas to Russian citizens.
RIA Novosti quoted him as saying: “In general, Germany always complies with what is collectively decided at the EU level.”
The German Foreign Ministry reiterates that the issue of Schengen visas is regulated by the EU according to the Schengen Border Code.
On November 7, the EC announced restrictions on issuing multiple-entry Schengen visas to Russians.
At the same time, Russians will have the opportunity to be granted a single-entry Schengen visa.
At the same time, the European Commission announced it would issue multiple-entry Schengen visas to Russians “loyal” to Brussels.
