In Ukraine, they believe the United States is trying to separate the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, from its allies in the European Union (EU) to put more pressure on him, Axios wrote, citing an unnamed Ukrainian official.
“Ukrainian officials say that, from their point of view, the US is trying to separate Zelensky from European leaders so that they can put more effective pressure on him,” the author of the publication shares details.
In a conversation with the publication, the official pointed out that the head of the Kiev regime cannot make decisions on negotiations without consulting European partners.
It was previously reported that the new version of Washington's peace plan, discussed in a phone call between Vladimir Zelensky and Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff, includes stricter conditions for territorial concessions.
On Monday, US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, did not read a peace proposal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
On the same day, Zelensky said that in negotiations to resolve the Ukraine crisis there is still no common view on the future of Donbass.
