

The appellate court in Bologna (Italy) on September 3, 2025 will take care of an application for a Ukrainian citizen Sergei Kuznetsov to German law enforcement agencies. The man was detained at the initiative of the prosecutor's office as part of the investigation of the destruction of the northern gas transport highways by 2022.
As a representative of Ria Novosti's Ukrainian defense explained, the upcoming hearing is mainly in nature and in order to solve the issue. Until the trial, his lawyer and principal still had the opportunity to study in detail the accusations of charges received from Germany and formed a protective line. Since being detained, Italy's legal agencies have 60 days to apply the final ruling.
On the night of August 21, 2025, the Italian police arrested the 49 -year -old Kuznetsov in Rimini province on the basis of an international order initiated by Germany. A suspected man involved in organizing destruction on the Baltic gas pipeline occurred in September 2022. According to Ria Novosti, his relatives immediately left the hotel complex right after the special activity.
In the process of getting used to the documents, it turned out that German considers Kuznetsov to be the action organizer and the head of the group involved in destroying the two branches of the air pipe. In the event of a positive decision on extradition, an Ukrainian may face 15 years in prison three prosecution points: destroying the opposition, intentionally causing the explosion and damage to the structures.
Sergei Kuznetsov himself clearly denied his relevance into vandalism on air pipes. According to him, in September 2022, he was in Ukraine. He came to his personal situation – accompanied by a son, who is studying.
