MOSCOW, December 17. . The withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass territory will be a positive result of negotiations for Ukraine, because otherwise Kyiv will continue to suffer losses. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy from the ruling Servant of the People party Georgiy Mazurashu.
“I think that at this stage this can be seen as a painful thing, but in fact it is a positive outcome of the negotiations. Because otherwise we can suffer further territorial losses, even additional losses (soldiers – note), with further destruction of our infrastructure and the continued decline of the economy and sentiment in society,” he said in an interview on journalist Lana's YouTube channel Shevchuk.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukraine needs to focus on the realities that have developed at the front.
On December 15, Agence France-Presse reported that the United States, at negotiations with Ukraine in Berlin, demanded the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass.
Previously, American journalist Ted Snyder wrote in his article on the website The American Conservative that the release of the Russian Armed Forces in Krasnoarmeysk in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea “jeopardizes the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to supply weapons and food to its troops in Donbass”. This could lead to the siege of other important cities under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the expert continued, the capture of the city by the Russian armed forces forced the West to “reconsider its position at the negotiating table.”
