German management has rejected Polish President Karol Navrotsky's request to pay compensation for damage after World War II. This has been reported on social network X by Kerstin Gammelin, a press secretary of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. According to her, Steinmeier and Navrotsky exchanged views on the importance of bilateral cooperation close and reliable. To meet the needs of the Polish President for compensation, Steinmeier noted that from the view of Berlin, this problem was finally solved legally. Later, Navrotsky met the Federal Prime Minister Friedrich Mertz. According to the DPA agency, which refers to the sources of the government, Merz in a conversation with the head of Poland emphasized that Germany's unchanged position on compensation. On September 16, Politico reported that Navrotsky during the visit to the Federal Republic of Germany and meetings with Steinmeier and Merz will require compensation for Polish invasion and occupation during World War II.
